Judgment Day
Many centuries ago, the Bible predicted a description of the climax of this--a travailing world through the telescope of prophecy; holy men were shown the ultimate end of a world, as we know it, engulfed in sin. It was prophesied by the Scripture that mankind would arrive at the consummation of wickedness, and be caught in a dilemma of peril. Good men and Statesmen try to divert the world from disaster, but no one really believes that we shall escape the inevitable conflict of the world’s force; a world in travail. What a fitting description of our world. Even the most brilliant men say, “It is necessary to acknowledge the prospect of Global disaster.”
This end time period will include that great all-out war, called, “The Great Day of the Lord” (Acts 2:20), “the Day of the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 3:2), and “The Day of the Lord’s Wrath” (2 Peter 3:10). Let Bible prophecy describe that great day of God’s wrath and the conditions that precede it so that we can better understand where we are today, lest we face that day unaware and unprepared. “Therefore, wait ye upon Me, saith the Lord, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms. To pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy” (Zephaniah 3:8).
After this Great War comes a thousand years of peace and prosperity! Those who reign with Him are the blessed and holy; some were martyrs who had been beheaded for the witness of Jesus; some had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, and had not received his mark.
The term one Thousand Years is found in the book of Revelation, chapter 20, six times from the 2nd verse through the seventh. Remember this is His reign or rule spoken of many, many times in the Bible.
What does it mean to reign? It means a king to reign over, a kingdom of nations and people, to reign with Him means to be co-existent with Him, a part of the governing body. “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth; in that day shall be one Lord and His name one” (Zech 14:9). “Those who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ, out of every nation, kindred, tongue and people, are to be kings and priest and reign on the earth” (Revelation 5:9-10).
At the sounding of the seventh trumpet there will be great voices in heaven saying the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our Lord and His Christ and He shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 11:14-15). He is going to take over very soon, “The third woe cometh quickly (Revelation 2:26-27). Who will reign with Him? “He that overcometh and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over nations,” (Rev. 2:26).
These promises, dearly beloved, are real, and let us be willing to enter into them by seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
After the 1,000 years that Christ reigns, there is one more phase that needs to be completed, the Great Judgment Day, as we all stand before the Great Judge, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. This will complete the 7,000 years for man. This is the end of life as we know it, as the world knows it, some to Paradise for eternity, others to damnation, hell. How can we be so certain about the judgment day? Everything is described for us in His Word, the Bible, not one detail left out. He warns us, let's know what lies ahead, but are we able to accept it, are we able to prepare for it? That choice is yours, yours alone, but no matter what choice you make, there will be a Judgment Day.
No word of Revelation is more fitting to people of any age than the command “Fear God and give glory to Him” (Revelation 14:7). Verse 12 states the true meaning of being a Christian--then, now, or anytime. Saying with a loud voice, “Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished” (2 Peter 2:9).
He hath appointed a day. He has fixed the time in which He will judge the world, though He has not revealed this time to man. By that man whom He hath ordained, He has also appointed the judge by how the inhabitants of the earth are to be tried. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment,” (Heb. 9:27).
“ Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; where of he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead” (Acts 17:31).
God overlooked that sort of thing when men were ignorant, but now He is telling everyone everywhere that they must repent, because He has fixed a day when the whole world will be judged, and judged in righteousness, and He has appointed a man to be judge. And God has publicly proved this by raising this man Jesus Christ from the dead.
Judgment day was reserved from the beginning, there is no way out. The day, the year, the place is set; nothing will stop Judgment Day. We are making our choices right now of where we will spend eternity, from this day on, you will know that there will be a judgment day, and we will stand before the Great and Mighty Judge for all we have done, or have not done, this is a promise according to scriptures.
“After that I saw a huge number, impossible to count, of people from every nation, race, tribe and language they were standing in front of the throne and in front of the Lamb, dressed in white robes and holding palms in their hands. They shouted “Victory to our God, who sits on the throne and to the Lamb” (Revelation 7:9). “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be” (Revelation 22.12).
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself, and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of Man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation” (John 5:25-29).
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, “Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him” (Jude 14-15). “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son” (John 5:22).
Our Judge, which came as a child, a Savior, a King, then becomes a ruler during the 1,000 years, now becomes our Judge (Isaiah 3:13). All those who live and those who have died, all races all that have walked on the face of the earth will be judged. The Heavenly Father turned it all over to Jesus Christ, Jesus who walked the earth, lived as we did, was tempted, yet knew no sin. He will be the executor for the ungodly, yet the King and Savior to His people.
If anyone suffered for being a Christian, however, he ought not to be ashamed. He should rather glorify God in virtue of His Name. The season of judgment has begun, and begun with God’s own household. If it begins this way with us, what must be the end for those who refuse obedience to the gospel of God?
“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begins at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” (Peter 4:17-18). For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. We labor to walk so as to please Him, because we know that we shall have to give a solemn account of ourselves before the judgment seat of Christ. “That each may receive to himself, into his own reward and his wages, and that he may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it is good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).
We shall all have to stand before the judgment seat of God; as scriptures says: “By my life--it is the Lord who speaks--every knee shall bend before Me, and every tongue shall praise God. It is to God, therefore, that each of us must give account of himself (Romans 14:11-12).
“For the Son of man shall come with His Fathers' glory accompanied by His angels. When He does, He will repay each man according to his conduct. I assure you, among those standing here some who will not experience death before they see the Son of Man coming in His kingship” (Matthew 16:27,28). “Behold, one like the Son of man came to the Ancient of days standing here there are some who will not experience death before they see the Son of Man come in His glory. And there was given Him dominion and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nation, and languages should serve Him” (Daniel 7:13-14).
“And moreover, I saw under the sun, the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness. I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time for every purpose and for every work” (Daniel 7:11).
No matter what belief you have, what religion, what race, what land you come from, we will all face the only God of the universe, Jesus Christ. As the scriptures say, every knee will bow to me and every tongue will confess, no one will be left out on judgment day. In fact, the judgment will begin with the House of God, those who were to be the example, watch over and feed the flock, and bring the lost in. This does not leave out the sinners, as He is coming to reward all, the righteous and the wicked. What reward do you think you might have (Ecclesiastes 3:17)?
“I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened” (Daniel 7:9-10).
This is the old problem of the prosperity of the wicked, used in this case, to repudiate God’s moral authority in the world. Men can do as they please, for God is indifferent to their behavior, so men reason. This one tragic verse contains God’s indictment of sin, His offer of reconciliation, and man’s denial of any need to repent.
“Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name” (Malachi 3:16).
“There are three characteristics given of this people: (1) they fear the Lord; they had reverence for Jehovah that caused them to depart from evil, and to keep His ordinances (The Ten Commandments). (2) They spake often one to another, they kept up the communion of saints. By mutual exhortation they strengthened each other’s hands in the Lord. (3) They thought upon His name, His name was sacred to them; it was a fruitful source of profound and edifying meditation” (Adam Clark’s commentary on the Holy Bible).
“Next I saw a large white throne and the one who sat on it. The earth and the sky fled from His presence until they could no longer be seen. I saw the dead, the great and lowly, standing before the throne. Lastly, among the scrolls, the book of the living was opened. The dead were judged according to his conduct. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:12-15).
He that overcometh” is the term used to describe the true Christian. He is faithful to Christ’s truth, obeys His teaching, and cannot be conquered. This person truly shares in Christ’s victory over the world and his idolatry. "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels” (Revelation 3:5).
The Word of God is enough. Most of what is wrong to this world could be set right if the words of this book were obeyed. Few statements in the history of man speak with the force and clarity. The duty and obligation of all men everywhere is to fear God and keep his commandments. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).
We need to be found in the Book of Life! Those are the ones that will spend eternity with the Father! If we aren't found in this book, we will be condemned, destroyed! He evens sums it up for us, "Fear God and Keep His Commandments." Only those that overcome sin, trials, and the world will have this right to eternity, the wicked, the evildoers will be cast into the lake of fire.
Every sign Jesus gives of His coming and the end of this world has been fulfilled. The meaning of the signs is this: In times like these, just like the ones in which we live, the lord will come. It can happen at any moment.
“When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matthew 25:31-34).
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:19-21).
By flesh we are to understand the evil and fallen state of the soul, no longer under the guidance of God’s spirit and right reason, but under the animal passions, and they are rendered even more irregular and turbulent by the influence of sin, so that man is in a worse state than a brute. And so, all commanding is this evil nature that it leads men into all kinds of crimes, among the following, which are manifest known in all, and most prevalent; and though these are most solemnly forbidden by your law, the observance of its ordinances gives no power to overcome them, and provides no pardon for the guilt and condemnation produced by them. Only those who truly repent and follow Jesus Christ in all truths will be pardoned. The Bible teaches: “You must love your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your might” (Deuteronomy 6:5). That is what will cover a multitude of sins, nothing but the blood Jesus.
The light, which the Gentiles have, is not sufficient to save: it is only sufficient to condemn. Paul believed the Gentiles were condemned because they did not live up to the light which they had.
The practice of sin is the judgment of God. The sins, which the Gentiles committed, are strangely modern. Paul said this was a part of God’s judgment on men who rejected Him. There is pleasure in sin, but there is a bad image and degradation as well. The man who lives a life of sin is already experiencing a foretaste of hell (Gehenna). Why should we preach the gospel to the heathen? Paul answered that question here. They are lost; they are doomed. Salvation comes only through Christ; The Christian’s duty is to preach the gospel to the whole world.
The sins of the Gentiles were both spiritual and physical, both respectable and disreputable. Our modern tendency of sinful actions are to such things as sexual and immoral acts, but he also mentions personal sins as covetousness, envy, pride, boasting and foolishness. He added such social sins as strife, spite, and slander, sin includes any act or attitude, which is contrary to the rulership of God in our lives.
“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:24-32).
The apostle asserted that what appears to be a delay in the Lord’s return is really an expression of the mercy of God. He has not forgotten His promise, nor is He powerless to bring it to fulfillment. Finally, Peter declared that “the Day of the Lord” will certainly come. With its arrival there will occur the termination of the present world. The heaven above us will pass away with a thunderous crash and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.
The general sense is that the world as we have known it will cease to be. Christians, however, can face the future with positive hope, for the day of the Lord will usher in the new and eternal age. This shows the practical effect of belief in the second coming of Christ. The hope of this event is a powerful incentive for the dedicated to God.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the Day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men. “But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up” (2 Peter 3:7; 10).
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch” (Malachi 4:1). A day of judgment is coming for all that do wickedly: but for those who fear my name, a better day will dawn, ushered in the rising of the Son of righteousness and in those rays are power of healing.
“And the sea gave up the dead, which were in it; and death and hell (grave) delivered up the dead, which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell (grave) were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:13-15).
You can see how simple Christ made it for us to see what not to do, and what will condemn you to hells fire, He doesn't want anyone to be condemned, but He has only one way, His way, and the pure and righteous way. It is what you do now, what kind of life you live; the choices you make that will save or condemn you. No one will escape Judgment Day, even the sea, the grave, all who have died will be brought up to be judged. All evil, demons, those not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire, to be burned up, to be completely destroyed.
He who wins the victory shall inherit these gifts; I will be his God and he shall be my son. As for the cowards and traitors to the faith, the depraved and murderers, the fornicators and sorcerers, and idol-worshipers and deceivers of every sort-their lot is the fiery pool of burning hell (Gehenna), the second death. “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son” (Revelation 21:7).
I warn you now, as I warned you before: those who behave like this will not inherit the kingdom of God, what the Spirit bring is very different: “But the fruits of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23).
I am Alpha and the Omega, the First and the last, the beginning and the end. Happy are those who will have wash their robes clean, so that they will have the right to feed on the tree of life and can come through the gates into the city. Jesus is coming soon to establish the things which are written. The petition come is an appeal to the Lord that He returns quickly. The warning means, you must see and understand this book’s true meaning, share it, and obey it!
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city” (Revelation 22:14).
But the Holy One has anointed you, and have all received the knowledge. It is not because you do not know the truth that I am writing to you, but because you know it already and knows that no lie can come from the truth. The man who denies that Jesus is the Christ, he is a liar, he is the Antichrist: and he is denying the Father as well as the Son, because no one who has the Father can deny the Son and to acknowledge the Son is to have the Father as well. Keep alive in yourselves what you were taught in the beginning as long as what were taught in the beginning is alive in you, you will live in the Son and in the Father; and what is promised to you by His own promise is eternal life.
“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning.
If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father” (1 John 2:22-24). Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat” (2 Peter 3:12)?
Christ is coming for His own, and on Judgment Day those that kept the faith, those that have the fruits of the Spirit that kept the commandments of God, those that overcome those fiery trials, and those that are written in the Book of Life are the ones that will spend Eternity with Jesus Christ. We must accept, believe, and do. There are only 2 choices: we serve God, or we serve the devil. Serving God will bring us eternal life, serving Satan brings death and destruction (2 Peter 3:12-14).
“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him” (Isaiah 64:4).
The day of the Lord will come like a thief, and on that day the heavens will vanish with a roar: the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and all its deeds will be made manifest. Since everything is to be destroyed this way, what sort of men must you be? How holy in your conduct and devotion. Looking for the coming of the day of God and trying to hasten it! Because of it the heavens will be destroyed in flames and the elements will melt away in a blaze. What we await are new heavens and a new earth where according to his promise the justice of God will reside.
“Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat! Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness” (2 Peter 3:12-13).
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely” (Revelation 21:1-6).
“Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till He hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For He hath put all things under his feet. But when He saith, all things are put under Him, it is manifest that He is accepted, which did put all things under Him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all” (1 Corinthian 15:24-28).
How Awesome! The earth on fire, being purified, then the Holy City coming down from the heavens, Christ with all His Holy Angels! What a sight! I can't even imagine how beautiful that day will be! No more sorrow, pain, tears, hate, fear, death, sickness, all that will be destroyed, everything purified by the Lord. After the great Judgment Day, the purification of the earth, then Jesus Christ will turn all things over to Jehovah, the Heavenly Father and His people will then live in paradise. Why would anyone want to pass this up? We know now there will be a Judgment Day; it is still up to us what we do with our life now. We must live for Jesus, by His words, His commandments and not let Satan deceives us; remember his goal is to take as many souls with him, to hell. Judgment Day is coming, be prepared, and don’t let it overcome you as a thief in the night.
The book of Revelation shows that Judgment Day begins after Armageddon When Satan’s system on earth will be destroyed. After Armageddon, Satan and his demons will be imprisoned in abyss for a thousand years. During that time the joint heirs will be judged and will rule as kings and priests with Christ a thousand years.
The second coming has been explored with many viewpoints since Jesus spoke directly to it in His Olive Discourse (Matthew 24). False predictions along the way have caused many believers to lose faith.
The generation that will experience the return of Jesus will also witness the resurrection of the saints (Matthew 24:31; 1 Thessalonians 4:16). At that time Jesus will stand on Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east (Zechariah 14:4) at the beginning of His reign as earth’s supreme ruler (Zechariah 14:9). None of this has happened.
At God’s perfect moment, He will intervene to stop the madness. Of all people, Christians should not be fearful. Jesus counsel is to be watchful and faithful (Matthew 24:45-51).
On the contrary, the knowledge of Scripture is what strengthens our faith. As believing people take ownership of the Bible truth on this topic, the power working of the Holy Spirit will carry us through the test and tribulation yet to come. In these last days we need to strengthen one another in grace and truth so that we may hear the words of Jesus: “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord” (Mathew 25:21).
You know all of us must appear before the judgment seat of God so why not come to Christ and repent of your sins and walk in a newness of life. If you have a change of heart and want to follow Christ then pray and ask for guidance.
