Holy Trinity
Staggering proof of the pagan origin of this teaching by which the Eternal Most High is being blasphemed, dishonored and denied the right to His own throne! The most tragic part of this great lie of a "Triune God" is that most adherents of the theory have been misled into believing it. It is a doctrine which even its most ardent advocates cannot substantiate! Were it, therefore, not for the false teachers and man's voluntary enslavement to traditions--many followers of the Almighty would not have worshipped in the establishment they find themselves in today.
Yet, never it be forgotten, that the identity of the Supreme Being is shrouded in a mystery-- a mystery, though, which He is eager to reveal to the sincere seekers after Him--those who are preparing themselves to be His spotless "Bride." "I am the good Shepherd and know My Sheep, and am known of mine" (John 10:14). People are confused and divided on the matter of a Trinity. There are nearly as many interpretations as there are teachers of this theory.
The result was a greatly perverted gospel; sometimes more pagan than Christian. The reformer cried out against a lot of those false doctrines, but some of Rome's traditions still remain as doctrines in many Protestant Churches today. The Trinity doctrine was borrowed from the pagan religion. It makes Jesus God instead of the "Son of God," as is taught in the scripture.
The doctrine of Trinity traces most of the practices and teachings of the Roman cult to paganism and proves the Papal worship to be, in its origin, the worship of Nimrod and his wife. Suffice to say that, in comparing Catholicism, and judge by the same merits, Protestantism is hardly removed from Catholicism with ancient Babylonian paganism, it appears that the idea of Trinity is ancient: Only God of the Babylonians. This doctrine of a Triune Godhead came from ancient Babylon. They believed in one Supreme God, but Three Persons. Assyria had a Triune God, and this doctrine came into the Church in the great Roman Apostacy. It was adopted by the Council of Nicea--Three Persons in the Godhead who are Co-Eternal and equal in all things. This is a serious error and the Bible does not teach it.
"But to us there is only one God, the Father" (1 Cor.8:4-6). This truth is taught throughout both Old and New Scriptures. The one God, Jehovah, is not a Trinity of God's. There are not Three Persons in the Godhead of the Bible. Jesus is not one person in a Triune Godhead. He is the "Son of God" (Matt.16:15-17). Jesus was and is entirely subordinate to that one true God, the Father in heaven. All the power that Jesus had was given to Him by his Father. The Holy Spirit has no name, it is merely a title--"Spirit" referring to substance and "Holy" referring to Character; the "Spirit which is Holy." But who is the Spirit and what is His name? Is the Spirit a person or is it the Power from God? The doctrine of trinity claims that the Holy Spirit is not Jesus, neither is He the Father. But by His Spirit (Jesus) He lives within the hearts of men.
Matt.16:15-17 "Thou art the Christ the Son of the living God". Psa.2:7 "Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee". 1 John 5:5 "He that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God". "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God," This reply affirms two great truths concerning Jesus--His divine Sonship and His Messiahship. Even Peter, however, did not realize the full importance of this confession, as is evidence by the severe rebuke of verse22 of Matthew 16, but the answer of Jesus with the play on the word (petros) rock, implies that He regarded this confession of His Divine Sonship and Messiahship as the foundation on which the new Israel of God was to be built. The moral and Spiritual content of the confession is more important than the intellectual. The second (intellectual) may change; the first (confession) is permanent.
John 17:3 "The only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent". 1Cor.8:4 "and that there is none other God but one". 1Thes.1:9 "Serve the living and true God". It is called eternal life to show that it reaches beyond the limits of time, and that it necessarily implies: the resurrection of the body; the immortality of the soul; and that it is never to end, hence called "a life ever living." The way to attain this eternal life is to acknowledge, worship, and obey, the one only true God, and to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as a Teacher and Saviour, the one and only true Messiah. Here Jesus plainly states, Jehovah is the only true God.
John 6:6-9 "Thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God". 1John 4:12-15 "The Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world". John 3:17 "But the world through him might be saved". On the authority of Thy word; and sure--"having known," by the evidence of Thy miracles, that thou art that Christ, the promised Messiah; "the Holy One of God," Where shall we find a more gracious master--a more powerful redeemer--a more suitable Saviour? "Thou alone hast the words of eternal life," Again the truth of Jehovah being that one and only living God is revealed to Peter, also the truth that Jesus is the Son of this living God. We must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, not one of a Triune (three) Godhead (1John 4:12-15).
1Tim.2:5 "One God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ". 1Tim.1:17 "The King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God". 1Tim.6:15-16 "The blessed and only Potenated, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lord". Christ the mediator signifies literally a "middle person," and "a peacemaker" one whose office it is to reconcile two parties that are hostile. There can be only one eternal Being, that is God; and He only can have Immortality. We are told that this King eternal, the only wise God, "who only hath Immortality." He is the only one that has Natural Immortality. All other, including the Lord Jesus, has immortality, as a gift from the King Eternal, the one true God.
Shortly before His crucifixion Jesus Prayed (John 17:5). And, indeed, that is exactly what happened; Jesus was glorified as He was before the world was. The Word (Jesus) and God (the Father) had a very special relationship of love throughout eternity. Jesus said of God, "You loved Me before the foundation of the world" (John 17:24). They were completely one in spirit (John 10:30). He didn't mean they were one being. They were two separate personalities who thought as one. Though they were two distinct individuals they acted in such harmony that it was proper to say they were one--a singularity.
Jesus came to reveal the existence and character of the Father. The Father's existence was not generally known to mankind until the Word (Jesus) appeared in the flesh (John 5:37). In rank, Christ or the Word come under God's authority. Jesus said, "My Father is greater than I" (John 14:28). Christ and God cooperated in all things. They see eye to eye. Jesus (the Word) always submits in love to His Father.
Col.1:15-17 "By Him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in earth". John1:3 "All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made". Eph.3:9 "From the beginning of the world, God created all things by Jesus Christ". Four things are asserted here: that Jesus Christ is the Creator of the universe, of all things all creation, to all being, whether in the visible or invisible world. That He is the Preserver and Governor of all things; for by Him all things exist. What awesome power has been given to the world! The Word (Jesus) created the universe. God decided upon the master plan of creating the human family. Jesus did the actual creating, however. Once man is on earth, it is Jesus who deals with the human race. It was Jesus who spoke to Adam, Noah, Moses and those who followed after them.
We have established that Jesus is the word and is a member of God's family. We have seen that He has existed eternally and has been working throughout human history. We see the Lord Jesus as the creator of all things (Col.1:16). The Lord was made flesh as Jesus of Nazareth. The Lord died and was resurrected. He is building His congregation of faithful believers and will be returning soon.
John 20:22 "He breathed on them, and said unto them, receive ye the Holy Spirit". Luke 1:15 "He (John the Baptist) shall be filled with the Holy Ghost (Spirit)." John 1:33 "The same is He which baptizeth with the Holy Spirit". Joel 2:28 "I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh". Gen. 1:2 And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the water".
The Holy Spirit is not a person, but the Holy Spirit is the creative power from God. It is not a person, but part of God Himself; just like His word. In Genesis we have the record of the world being created by the word of God. God spoke and it was created (Psa.104:29-30) His word is Quick and Powerful (Heb.4:12).Through faith we understand that the world was framed by the Word of God (Heb.11:13). The Holy Spirit was there creating as the words came forth.
In His breath He evidently referred to the first creation of man, when Jesus breathed into him the breath of life and he became a living soul; the breath or Spirit of God being the grand principle and cause of his spiritual and divine life.
John 14:26 "The Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, the Father will send in my name". Luke 24:49 "Tarry in Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high". Acts 10:45 "That on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit". John 14:16-18"(He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever". Jesus told the disciples He would send them a "Helper." Who or what is the Helper? "The Holy Spirit, He will teach you all things" (John 14:26). Jesus called the Helper "the Spirit of Truth" (John 16:13). The Bible describes this Power of God. The Holy Spirit, for example, is something which can be poured out (Acts 2:17). It flows like water.
Other symbols for the Holy Spirit was breath (John 20:22); Oil (Psa.45:7); wind (John 3:8) and water (John 4:14). Today, the "Helper" or the Holy Spirit is the way in which Jesus will "come in the flesh." Jesus uses the power of the Holy Spirit to assist humans submissive to God to live the same kind of life He did. It's the same Power that begat the human Jesus and helped Him remain sinless during His earthly life. God said "I will pour out My Spirit," It was His Spirit (Power), not a person. You do not pour out a person. They were filled with God's Spirit. It was directly from God. This Comforter (Power) was sent from God. It is the creative Power of God working in His children and in the universe. God is a Spiritual person, but through His Spirit Power He is everywhere.
Luke 1:31-35 "The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and ye shall bear the Son of God". Matt. 1:18 "She (Mary) was found with child of the Holy Spirit". Matt. 1:20 "For that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit". In the New Testament we find much about the Holy Spirit. First, we find that in the birth of Jesus, the angel told Mary that she would be with Child. "For that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." God's Power, of His Holy Spirit, placed the seed in Mary's womb. But if the Holy Spirit is a person, then who is the Father of Jesus? There is no Trinity doctrine in these scriptures. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Yet, Christ constantly called God, not the Holy Spirit, His Father.
The Holy Spirit, here, is the essence or Power of God. If the Holy Spirit were a person, He would be Christ's Father. Here we clearly see that the Holy Spirit is the Power of God, much as electricity is a power in the physical realm. It is plain from these scriptures that the Holy Spirit is the personal representative of Christ and the Father.
It is the Christian's privilege to have righteous, peace, and joy--a righteousness which is of God by faith (Romans 3:21-22); a peace that passeth all understanding (Phil.4:7), which the world can neither give nor take away; and a joy that rejoices evermore (1Thes.5:16). His (God) first creative product since the Supreme Being (the Almighty and the Most High God) is the Creator of "all things" (Acts 17:24; Rev.4:10, Isa. 44:24), it necessarily follows that He is also the Creator of His own Son, a view considered heretical by many. Col. 1:15 "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature".
Rev.3:14 "The beginning of the Creation of God". John 5:26 "Hath He given to the Son to have Life in Himself". John 10:36 "I am the Son of God". Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature? An image is a copy of another. Creature signifies creation. Logic demands that the firstborn in any family is the first one born, and this verse shows that Jesus was the first of all Creation to come into existence, not merely in position or rank but in time--the firstborn had an origin at a point prior to all other acts of creation (Prov.8:22-30). He was the firstborn of every creature, the firstborn among many brethren, and the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have preeminence (Rom.8-29; Col.1:15-18).
"These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness; the beginning of creation of God." He (the Son) is the beginning, not the beginner, of the creation of God. Trinitarians claim that this means that Jesus Christ is the beginner or originator of God's creation. That's perverting the signification of the facts in order to vindicate their assertions that Jesus had no beginning. The Concordant Version of Sacred Scriptures gives us the correct rendering: Who is the "Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, and God's creative Original" (Revelation 3:14). "For as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath He given to the Son to have life in himself" (John 5:26). This declares that there was a time when the Son did not have life.
This does not refer to the Son's natural life, but to the same kind of eternal life that the Father has. Neither does it refer to His life at the resurrection, for the Father had given it to Him long ago. In John 1:4 it stated "In Him was life," which He evidently received "In the Beginning" (John 1:1-2). The Hebrew word reshiyth, translated "beginning" in connection with the creation of heaven and earth (Gen.1:1), and the Greek word arche translated "beginning" in connection with creation of the universe (Heb.1:10), and the "beginning of the Word in John 1:1-2 means any beginning, but never means eternity of duration before a first beginning. The overall evidence is that the Word (Jesus) had a beginning. We have proved with out a doubt that Jesus is the Son of God-the Father, the Holy Spirit is the Power which was spoken and the world was created (Isaiah 45:18).
